I am in the midst of a big change. My art career is about to take a major turn and there are some thoughts that I would like to share. I have just taken my first major monetary leap by purchasing a bunch of equipment to further my art career along. Till this point I have piecemealed together the things I needed to run my life as an artist. By that I mean that I have gotten things as I was able to afford them which is generally what we all do. At this point in my career I am taking a leap by bringing all the equipment that I need to shoot, manipulate, and print all of my own images in house. The process of getting prints of your art in general goes as such:

1> Paint the painting
2> Find someone to scan the painting, or have it shot digitally at high resolution, or have a transparency made of it to later be scanned. (Basically it needs to be in digital format in the end, regardless of how you get there)
3> Have a printer color correct, prepare and print proofs enroute to producing an edition of prints. (Mainly done through Giclee houses)

I now have the ability to complete the process start to finish which is amazing. Anytime you have the opportunity bring any process in house that is a good opportunity. They call that quality control. I don't have to rely on anyone else to handle or output my images. This makes me happy because I am fairly picky about what I put out there as a product. Some extra advantages are that I can use this equipment to experiment as well and make prints that I would not normally be able to execute through a giclee house. I have a ton of ideas that I am going to explore and I look forward to bringing them to light. Today is a good day for creativity and for dreams. I have just taken one more step forward as I live my dream as an aritst. Today I feel nervous for the change but thankful for the opportunity. There is a quote that I love and it reads…."Allow fear to be your companion on all your greatest journeys". Let the journey begin………….
